Peter Lindbergh has made history in the field of photography. In the 1980s, he expanded the visual language of fashion photography – a pioneering achievement, the effects of which are felt to this day. His iconic portraits of supermodels left a lasting impression on our visual memory and heralded the beginning of an era of natural beauty and self-confident feminity. Not the fashion, but the personality and radiance of the models become the focus of his black-and-white photos.
This book documents the first exhibition curated by Peter Lindbergh himself shortly before his untimely death. With more than 150 photographs from the early 1980s to the present, it offers new and unexpected insights into the work of the legendary photographer. The selection is complemented by detailed texts on the exhibition’s origins and a tribute by the German filmmaker Wim Wenders, a close friend of Lindbergh’s.
I really miss going to an exhibition. Sometimes I feel like I’m going drive crazy. But this book is able to take my imagination to this exhibition.
Here are a selection of my favorite ones. This book is like a piece of art to me. Nobody can’t touch it.
