Mais uma edição do PortugalFashion e desta vez destaco a moda masculina. Miguel Vieira apresentou uma coleção inspirada em África e David Catalán no Alpinismo.
África é o que nós queremos que ela seja. Ela presta culto à beleza através da sua cultura, memórias, cores, sons, cheiros, especiarias, saudade, pôr-do-sol… O inverno em África é tudo menos típico. A chuva e o frio dão lugar a dias mais quentes e secos em que o sol parece nunca se pôr. O homem Miguel Vieira celebra isso mesmo. Sai a camisa e fica a pele. A rigidez toma uma forma mais descontraída e o homem Miguel Vieira mostra outro lado da sua personalidade. Para ele o vestir é uma forma de arte na qual, por vezes, tudo o que necessita é apenas de um fato. Tecidos grossos e estruturados dão lugar a materiais mais leves e frescos, como telas em branco onde se estampa a celebração à cultura e inovação. Elementos geométricos que lembram estampados étnicos, e as cores azul do céu e bege da areia como base para outras cores que, em conjunto, contam uma história. Um inverno passado em África que tem como cenário as mais vibrantes cidades cosmopolitas, onde histórias e tradições são passadas para a cultura do século XXI, renovando a liberdade de vestir de um homem moderno que nunca esquece a África que o rodeia com vista para um horizonte que parece não ter fim.

Africa is what we want it to be. She worships beauty through her culture, memories, colors, sounds, smells, spices, saudade, sunsets… Winter in Africa is anything but typical. Rain and cold give way to warmer, drier days in which the sun never seems to set. The Miguel Vieira man celebrates just this. Get the shirt off and leave the skin. The rigidity takes a more relaxed form and the Miguel Vieira man shows another side of his personality. For him dressing is an art form in which, sometimes, all he needs is simple suit. Thick and structured fabrics lead to lighter and fresher materials, like blank canvases where a celebration to culture and innovation is stamped. Geometric elements resemble ethnic prints, and the blue of the sky and beige of the sand colors are the base for other colors that, together, tell us a story. A winter spent in Africa set in the most vibrant cosmopolitan cities where stories and traditions are passed on to the culture of the 21st century, renewing the freedom to dress of a modern man who never forgets the Africa that surrounds him with a view to a horizon which seems to have no end.

Mais uma vez, David Catalán nos leva a uma jornada, desta vez, para as alturas. Com o Alpinismo como inspiração para as silhuetas e o clima geral, e o documentário “Valey Uprising” como um ponto focal – uma revisão de 60 anos da história da escalada – a paleta de cores e detalhes revelam sua origem. Por mais desportiva que seja, a coleção de David começa com uma paleta neutra e terrosa, de bege e tijolo, preto e marrom, a tons mais contrastantes, como azul-marinho, laranja brilhante e amarelo-mel. Com texturas em camadas suaves e combinadas, podemos esperar um guarda-roupa moderno e sofisticado, com aquela pequena pitada de aconchego que a estação fria exige.
Once again, David Catalán takes us on a journey but, this time, to the heights. With Climbing as a main inspiration for both silhouettes and general mood, and the documentary “Valey Uprising” as a focal point – a 60 year review of climbing history- the colour palette and details imeadiately disclose their origin. As sporty as it is classy, David’s collection departs from a neutral and earthy palette, from beige and brick, black and brown, to more contrasting tones, such as aquamarine blue, bright orange and honey yellow. With antagonic textures smoothly layered and combined, we can expect a modern and sophisticated wardrobe, with that little extra sprinkle of cozyness the cold season begs for.
