Last year I had the privilege of attending the 1st edition of the “Máxima Beauty Summit”, which was a great success (see here) As a result I decided to attend this 2nd edition which took place at “Pavilhão Carlos Lopes”, in Parque Eduardo VII, Lisbon, on 18 and 19 May and there were about 5000 people (I have already seen the preparations for “Feira do Livro”).
In this space, you could enjoy experiences related to the universe of beauty, listen to talks on major current issues with public figures and experts, and discover new products on the cosmetics market. By participating in this unique event you would also receive a free goody-bag of beauty products worth € 110, to try at home.
I attended the event last Friday and had the opportunity to listen to Talk I: “The transforming power of hair and make-up” moderated by journalist Andreia Vale and with a panel of speakers featuring the make-up and hair icons, Cristina Gomes (makeup) and Helena Vaz Pereira (Hair Stylist) as well the actress Paula Lobo Antunes and Cláudia Piloto (motivational specialist in Image and Health). This talk was very emotional because it wasn’t only about beauty itself, it touched on issues that are very current, such as domestic violence and health problems. Cláudia Piloto cares for the image of people who have already experienced cancer, dealing with emotions and increasing the self-esteem of their clients/patients. Helena Vaz Pereira focused on aspects such as how some women need to turn to her to radically change their image so as not to be recognized on the street by their ex-partners due to domestic violence.
During the breaks between talks, people would circulate through the stands of the brands to try out new products that are soon to be launched into the market.
I must congratulate Maxima for the beautiful decorations. There were flowers everywhere, spring was definitely in the air.
Stay tuned and be sure not to miss this magnificent event next year!
